CURRICULUM & PEDAGOGY

CURRICULUM & PEDAGOGY

The School prepares students for the All India Secondary School Examination and All India Senior School Certificate Examination, conducted by the CBSE, New Delhi. Every effort is made to teach the students the effective use of English as a written and spoken language while Hindi is the second and Sanskrit the third language in accordance with the Three Language Scheme of the Secondary Education.

Curriculum & Pedagogy has been restructured in a new 5+3+3+4 design as per NEP 2020 to ensure Holistic Development of Learners

The key overall thrust of curriculum and pedagogy is to move the education system towards real understanding and towards learning how to learn – and away from the culture of rote learning as per the provisions of New Education Policy. The aim of education is not only the cognitive development, but also building character and creating holistic and well rounded individuals equipped with the key 21st century skills.

Curriculum content is enhanced in each subject to its core essentials, to make space for critical thinking and more holistic, inquiry-based, discovery-based, discussion based, and analysis based learning. The mandated content focuses on key concepts, ideas, applications, and problem solving. Teaching and learning is conducted in a more interactive manner; questions are encouraged, and classroom sessions regularly contain more fun, creative, collaborative, and exploratory activities for students for deeper and more experiential learning. To ensure Comprehensive Learning, critical thinking, enquiry, discovery, discussion and analysis holistic growth approach is adopted.

It allows holistic development in academic and non-academic spheres. The students are flexible to vocational and academic streams during studies. It establishes unity and integrity of science, social studies, arts & sports as a multi disciplinary concept. The teaching-learning process is activity based for conceptual understanding rather than role learning.

In all stages, experiential learning has been adopted, including Hands-on Learning, Arts integrated and Sports-integrated EducationStory-telling-based pedagogy, among others, as standard pedagogy within each subject, and with explorations of relation  among different subjects. To close the gap in achievement of learning outcomes, classroom transactions have been shifted towards competency-based learning and education. The assessment tools (including assessment “as”, “of”, and “for” learning)
will also be aligned with the learning outcomes, capabilities, and dispositions as specified for each subject of a given class
